I had an chance to shoot some products for Grain Works this past week. It was also a great chance to try out my new Tokina AT-X M35. Grain Works has some very cool hand-made products (pens, keychains, etc..), each one of a kind. Browse their store if you like one-of-a-kind products… Each item is different due to the individual grains of the natural wood. And the items shown in the pictures are the actual item being sold, not something similar. Very cool if you ask me!
As far as the Tokina M35, the auto-focus is a bit slow, but hardly a problem under the circumstances I used it. It is amazingly sharp, it renders colors very naturally, and I simply loved the weight as I was holding it all day long. At 35mm, you really have to get close to your subject to utilize the macro capabilities, but it opens up a whole new perspective if you do. Now if I can just get some more DoF!
These pics are straight out of the camera without any editing… not bad, I’d say!!
